The Experience
Discover what it feels like to take control of a helicopter. With the Learn to Fly a Helicopter UK experience, you’ll do more than sit back and enjoy the view, you’ll actually pilot the aircraft under the guidance of a qualified instructor.
Your lesson begins with a safety briefing and an introduction to the helicopter. You’ll learn the essential controls and what to expect once you’re in the air. With the preparation complete, it’s time to climb aboard and take off for an unforgettable flying session. The instructor will handle the tricky parts, but when you’re ready, they’ll hand you the controls so you can try your hand at hovering, turning, and handling the helicopter yourself.
Once back on the ground, you’ll receive a short debrief and a certificate to mark the day. Better still, your flight time can count towards a Private Pilot’s Licence, making this a genuine first step for anyone who dreams of becoming a pilot.

As with all flying experiences you will need to call a weather-check line on the day before, or on the morning of your flight. If the weather is unsuitable then you can reschedule your flight for another time.
Session Length
Your helicopter flight time is from engines-on to engines-off and varies from 25 to 30 minutes, depending on location. This is as well as the 30 minute safety briefing before your flight.
