The Experience
Get ready to experience flight in its purest form!
This gliding lesson in Cambridge gives you the chance to take control and feel the freedom of soaring through open skies.
Your experience begins with a short briefing to help you get familiar with the aircraft and your pilot. Once ready, you’ll climb into a modern two-seat glider and be aerotowed to 2,500 feet. The moment you release from the tow plane, the silence takes over. The glider moves smoothly, carried by the wind, as you take in sweeping views across the Cambridgeshire countryside.
Your instructor will demonstrate the basics of flight before inviting you to take the stick. Feel how the glider responds to your movements and enjoy the calm as you guide it through the air. The flight typically lasts around 20 minutes before you return to the airfield for a gentle landing.
This is a rare opportunity to experience what most people only dream of, flying without an engine, powered purely by air and skill. It’s relaxing and exciting at the same time, and will be something you’ll remember long after you’re back on the ground!
