The Experience
Discover what it feels like to fly a real aircraft with the 60-Minute Light Aircraft Trial Flight in Kent.
Your lesson begins with a detailed pre-flight briefing where your instructor explains the aircraft’s controls and what you’ll experience once airborne. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions and discuss your planned route before heading to the aircraft.
After settling into the captain’s seat, your instructor will handle the initial checks and guide you through engine start-up and taxiing. Once cleared for take-off, you’ll follow through on the controls to get a feel for how the aircraft responds. When you’re ready, you’ll take full control under supervision, experiencing the true sensation of flying.
Depending on weather and flight conditions, your route may take you over scenic areas such as Beachy Head, Maidstone, Dover or Canterbury.

Trial lessons are available from age 10, though only those aged 14 or older can log the flight time toward a pilot’s licence. Participants must be able to reach the controls comfortably, and anyone under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or authorised guardian.
Good general health is recommended, and those considering ongoing flight training may wish to arrange a medical assessment with a CAA-registered examiner.
