The Experience
Get behind the wheel of a classic Mk2 Ford Escort RS2000 for a rally driving experience at Bishops Court in County Down, Northern Ireland.
Your session begins with a safety briefing and an introduction to rally car handling. You'll then take on two driving stages in the rear-wheel-drive Escort, with an instructor alongside you to help you get to grips with the car and guide you around the course.
You'll also enjoy a high-speed demonstration run with a professional rally driver, giving you the chance to experience the Escort's performance from the passenger seat.
After your driving session, you'll receive a debrief and written feedback on your performance, along with a certificate of accomplishment to take home.
The full experience lasts approximately 2–2.5 hours, including the briefing and driving activities.
Important Information
Participants must be at least 17 years old and hold a full driving licence. The maximum weight is 18 stone (approximately 114 kg), and the maximum height is 6 ft (approximately 183 cm).
The Weather
The experience may be cancelled or shortened if extreme weather makes driving conditions unsafe. If you're unsure about the weather before travelling, please contact the rally driving centre.
Session Length
Allow approximately 2–2.5 hours for the full experience, including the safety briefing, rally driving and certificate presentation.
Numbers
This experience is for one participant. Other drivers may attend the same session, but you'll be the only participant in the car during your driving stages, accompanied by your instructor.
Spectators
Spectators are welcome at the rally driving centre. Anyone wishing to take part in the driving experience will need their own booking.
What to Wear
Wear comfortable clothing and thin, flat-soled shoes, as the pedals may be close together. A helmet and any other necessary safety equipment will be provided. You can bring your own helmet if you prefer, subject to the centre's requirements.
Availability
Available on selected weekdays and weekends throughout the year, subject to availability. Weekend sessions are particularly popular, so booking at least four weeks in advance is recommended.
